1. Project Cost Estimation: Prepare detailed and accurate quantity take-offs and cost estimates for interior design and fit-out projects based on architectural drawings, specifications, and site conditions.
2. BOQ Preparation: Create comprehensive Bills of Quantities (BOQs) outlining materials, labor, and equipment requirements, ensuring alignment with project scope and design intent.
3. Vendor Coordination: Collaborate with vendors and subcontractors to gather updated pricing and technical specifications to ensure cost accuracy and feasibility.
4.Tendering & Bid Analysis: Support the tendering process by evaluating quotations, preparing comparative analysis, and ensuring competitive pricing while maintaining quality standards.
5. Budget Monitoring: Assist the project and finance teams in budget planning, tracking project costs, and flagging any deviations from the approved estimates.
6. Value Engineering: Identify opportunities for cost-saving through value engineering without compromising on design quality or client expectations.
7. Strategic Sales Development: Develop and implement targeted sales and business development strategies to support company growth and market penetration.
8. Documentation & Reporting: Maintain organized project documentation including estimates, BOQs, vendor quotes, and cost analysis reports for internal and client-facing use.
9. Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with the design, procurement, and project execution teams to ensure smooth communication, timely decision-making, and cost control.
10. Site Visits & Verification: Conduct site inspections when required to verify quantities, assess conditions, and confirm scope changes before finalizing estimates or variations.
1. Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of estimation techniques, cost control processes, BOQ preparation, and pricing across various stages of project development.
2. Software Proficiency: Proficient in MS Excel, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and estimation software/tools commonly used in quantity surveying and interior project estimation.
3. Analytical & Numerical Skills: Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail in interpreting drawings, specifications, and cost data.
4. Industry Knowledge: Understanding of interior design project workflows, materials, labor markets, and procurement cycles to support accurate and practical estimation.
5. Communication & Coordination: Strong communication skills with the ability to coordinate across departments, engage with vendors, and present estimates to management/client teams.
6. Organizational Skills: Well-organized and capable of handling multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously in a fast-paced work environment.
7. Education: Bechalor’s in Civil Engineering.
Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience as a Quantity Estimator or Quantity Surveyor, preferably within the interior design, construction, or fit-out industry. (Mandatory)
