Challenges We Faced as a Design Team
Site constraints: The floor (no changes can take place), the structure (no changes can take place) was limited, and we could not modify the space.
Design-to-built roadblocks: Shininess and gold accents were to remain affordable and not to be compromised.
Vendor or material delays: Pending site execution
Communication gaps or scope creep: None
Lack of clarity in expectations: We had a vague idea of the way our finishes need to be shiny or luxurious.
Why Our Design Worked
The choice of specific design that impacted greatly:
-
Fluted panels and mauve floral wallpaper created depth and texture.
-
There was a rippled metallic ceiling that reflected light and provided a sense of luxury and transparency.
-
The glossy taupe kitchen with fluted glass and marble backsplash reflected the shiny dream.
- A personal dressing area had been created by turning a small storeroom into a custom walk-in closet.
-
The swing, plant covered balcony was turned into a comfortable retreat.
