Majlis is a 2264 sq ft Modern Luxury villa interior design in Arabian Ranches 2, Dubai. The plan reimagines the traditional Majlis as a versatile hospitality space that supports both formal entertaining and everyday family use, with a cohesive design language running across the living room, foyer, dining and kitchen, and powder room.
The palette holds cream and pastel tones as the primary register, with sage green upholstery accents, brushed brass fixtures, veined marble flooring, and sculptural pendant lighting layered through every zone. Premium wall finishes and refined lighting compositions carry the atmospheric register throughout.

Our story
The brief was to create a sophisticated Modern Majlis that balances classical influences with contemporary design, and to hold the atmospheric weight of a hospitality space without turning either overly traditional or excessively contemporary.
The Majlis was to seat approximately twenty to twenty five people comfortably in a formal composition, with the room feeling spacious and unified rather than sectioned into separate seating clusters. The seating had to function equally well for family gatherings, entertaining friends, and hosting formal business guests.
The palette was envisioned in light and pastel tones, supported by premium materials, elegant finishes and comfortable furniture. New wall treatments, lighting, flooring, curtains and television placement options were all to be explored across the primary volume.
The foyer, kitchen, dining and utility areas required coordinated finishes and improved lighting, with practical storage solutions folded into the composition without disrupting the visual continuity between rooms.
A cohesive design language was to run across the foyer, dining, kitchen and supporting spaces. Read as considered villa interior design in Dubai at this scale, the real request was refined Modern Luxury hospitality with the discipline of a single considered composition.
The primary challenge was accommodating twenty to twenty five people while maintaining a spacious and comfortable layout. A Majlis that packs seating tightly loses its hospitality register. A Majlis that spreads seating too widely loses the intimate composition that makes a formal gathering feel welcoming.
The existing tiled flooring and grout carried the second practical constraint. Frequent maintenance was an ongoing concern, but removing the tiles was not preferred due to time and cost considerations. The plan had to work with the existing floor rather than against it, and the wall and lighting compositions had to carry the visual weight the flooring alone could not.
Balancing traditional Majlis character with contemporary aesthetic was the third discipline. The composition needed enough traditional register to read as a Majlis rather than a generic formal living room, and enough contemporary detailing to feel considered rather than themed. That balance is what separates a considered Modern Majlis from a routine reinterpretation.
Several functional areas including the powder wash room required additional storage and utility planning within limited spaces. Each service pocket needed to hold its function without disrupting the atmospheric register of the primary volume.
The transition between rooms carried the last discipline. A Majlis that reads distinct from the foyer, kitchen and powder room fragments the visitor experience. The design language needed to run continuously across every space while allowing each zone its own atmospheric register.
Euphoria Interiors resolved the plan by drawing the Majlis as one considered composition and letting every supporting zone extend the shared design language rather than break from it. The palette was locked at concept stage as cream, pastel sage green and brushed brass across the whole villa.

By composing the seating as one continuous U shape arrangement rather than as separate seating clusters. A U shape formal composition faces every guest toward the centre of the room, which is what creates the intimate hospitality register a Majlis is meant to hold.
At Majlis the seating is proportioned to the room. Modular sofas and armchairs are arranged along three sides of the primary volume, with travertine coffee tables at the centre for service, and the composition sits inside a double height volume that carries the atmospheric register without turning oppressive.
The upholstery holds the palette register. Sage green accents on the seating carry the pastel language, and the patterned green area rug grounds the whole composition against the cream palette. The seating reads as one considered composition rather than an assembly of purchases.
By treating the Majlis as an architectural composition that carries the register of traditional hospitality while using contemporary materials and lighting to deliver it. Because tile removal in a 2264 sq ft space is a significant time and cost commitment, and the existing floor did not carry a visual issue that made removal essential. The wall and lighting compositions could carry the atmospheric weight instead.
At Majlis the retained flooring is grounded by considered area rugs in the primary rooms. A patterned green area rug centres the Majlis composition. Runners and rugs in the supporting zones carry the palette forward. The rugs do the atmospheric work the tile floor cannot.
The disciplined choice to retain the flooring became a compositional decision rather than a compromise. The wall panelling, the sculptural lighting and the layered accent register all carry the atmospheric weight, and the plan reads considered from every angle regardless of the original tile.
Majlis ran to a thirteen week start to end timeline. The scope covered concept, spatial planning across the Majlis, foyer, kitchen and dining, powder wash and utility spaces, joinery drawings, material specification, lighting design, sourcing and styling.
Each workstream ran alongside the others rather than in sequence, which is what keeps a thirteen week timeline realistic on a project with this level of specification. The palette was locked at concept stage, and each room was specified against a known material range rather than chosen from scratch.
The Majlis seating drove the delivery sequence. The U shape composition required custom sofa and armchair proportions coordinated with the rug, coffee tables and pendant lighting overhead. Once the primary volume was resolved, the supporting zones could be specified against the same design language and delivered on the same schedule.
