The project transforms the 26th floor terrace and balcony into a relaxed, beach inspired retreat with a soft, unstructured coastal feel. Using sandy tones, weathered textures, light fabrics, and subtle greenery, the design evokes a seaside atmosphere without real water elements, addressing the client’s concerns. Comfortable seating and informal layouts encourage relaxation, while materials are chosen for durability and wind resistance, creating a calm, low maintenance outdoor space that captures the essence of a beach escape.

Requirements

Perched on the 26th floor, Mission Terrace was conceived as a breezy, beach inspired retreat above the city. The brief called for a relaxed and slightly unstructured aesthetic that felt open, airy, and effortlessly coastal, while addressing the practical challenge of strong high rise winds. To balance comfort with exposure, the design carefully zones the terrace into a cozy lounge, a dining area, and a quiet wellness corner, each positioned to maximize usability and shelter. At the heart of the space sits a spa style bath, creating a focal point that elevates the terrace into a true escape. Despite the complexities of planning and installation at height, the result is a harmonious outdoor living space that captures the essence of a beachside atmosphere, light, relaxed, and inviting.
