The Primary Living is a 1292 sqft ground floor renovation in the Nad Al Sheba Villas Community, and the constraint that shaped it is one plenty of Dubai families live with. The villa is rented, so anything permanent was off the table before the first drawing. The design works instead through what can be changed and later taken back, a walnut tone wooden floor across the ground level and the staircase, refinished kitchen cabinets, a new staircase railing, sheer curtains throughout and furniture chosen to carry the whole scheme. The style is warm contemporary with mid century elements, built on a neutral palette, natural textures and soft curves, then lifted with bold hues, gold and deep wood tones so the home reads calm without reading beige. The plan covers the entryway, living, guest bedroom and kitchen, with a ten seater dining table, a generous sofa, a large coffee table and an accent chair selected with older family members in mind.
