About this Space

This Japandi-inspired interior project seamlessly merges the clean lines of Scandinavian design with the warmth and simplicity of Japanese aesthetics. The living room embodies a semi-Scandinavian Nordic style, blending effortlessly with Japandi influences. A palette of earthy, neutral tones sets the stage for a serene and homely atmosphere. In the bedroom, a dual-tone textured paint finish adds depth and character to the walls, echoing the tranquil vibe of the living space. The office room features striking black cnc-cut panels, a nod to Japandi design, while also functioning as a guest room with a versatile sofa bed. The kids’ room is a playful yet calming retreat, featuring a green tea-colored panel, a vibrant floral yellow wallpaper, and a charming llama stool as a delightful accent. This project perfectly encapsulates the essence of Japandi, offering a harmonious balance between minimalism and warmth, therefore presenting to you Wabi-Sabi.

Requirements

It was one of our most spirited collaborations. Client was energetic, brought many personal items, with a genuine eye for bold ideas. The client was obvious about the brief. The client needed a minimal, functional, and personal design. The design was to be derived from what the client had already. The kids space reflected energy with mirrored study setups. The living room emerged with classic moulds with navy accents for a refined and welcoming feel. The open balcony got natures touch and lounge seating with great view of the streets. However, there were challenges regarding space and budget constraint. So designers had to think smart placement within a budget-friendly threshold. There was also an unforeseen drawback. The door opening direction was missed during the planning. There was a bed to block circulation. Despite problems like these, the result was highly satisfactory.

The client requested a modern family home that balances luxury aesthetics with practical daily living, while maximizing natural light and storage.

The villa had poor circulation flow, underutilized storage, and fragmented living spaces.
